Matthew Zingale: About Me

My name is Matthew Zingale and I am a Video Production Specialist. I currently live in Chicago Illinois and have directed 3 documentary films which have screened at various independent film festivals. I hold both a Masters and Bachelors degree in Media Studies from Northern Illinois University.

I am currently responsible for all aspects of video production at the American Veterinary Medical Association; including writing scripts, directing, filming, and editing the final product. These videos range from our AVMA TV series (informative videos targeted to the public) to in house company communication. I am also responsible for the creation of "AVMA Now," a members only news show that has changed the way our organization communicates with our members. For "AVMA Now" I serve as writer, production coordinator, technical director, and editor.

I have worked for Media Services at NIU and I assisted with all areas of video production including operating the camera, editing, creating graphics, recording voice-overs, and authoring DVDs. I am well versed on Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier. My other professional experience includes interning at WTVO and WQRF (ABC and FOX in Rockford, IL). In my position as intern I was responsible for editing the audio and video for a show called “Focus on Homes.” I have also written and done voice over work for other commercials as well. In the course of my schoolwork I have written many different scripts for both radio and television that highlight my creativity and sense of humor. I have also studied Media Management and Television Theory extensively.
